Malte Joe grew up in the USA and trained as an actor at the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, completing his studies in 2002.

He has performed in many different productions on the US west coast, including with Shakespeare Santa Cruz, American Conservatory Theater, Central Coast Theater Works, New City Theater, Intiman Theatre and Georgetown Arts Center in Seattle, Washington.

Malte Joe moved to Denmark in 2005 and has continued to work with his American colleagues in Strike Anywhere Productions and This Foreign Concept in a number of different productions in Berlin as well as with different Danish groups at Bådteatret, Prøvehallen, Aveny-T, Rialto Theatre, Zangenbergs Theatre and The Royal Theatre.

He has recently had a role in the film Spies/Glistrup and has performed in a number of short films. Danish children would recognize him as various characters in DR’s prize-winning childrens’ series Barda. He has also appeared in the comedy series Kristian and Klovn.

 In 2010 he performed in Why Not Theatre Company’s production of Life x 3 at Prøvehallen, Valby and as well as in our pop-up production Remembrance, and Love & Money at Bådteatret.
